Senior Session Guide

BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Think about what feels like you. Bring outfits, accessories and ideas that reflect your personality, interests and style. Your senior session should feel personal—not like a one-size-fits-all photo shoot.

Plan your outfits ahead of time. We recommend bringing a few different looks so your gallery has variety.

Consider your location. We'll choose settings that complement your style and the overall feel you want for your portraits.

WHAT TO WEAR
Bring variety. A good mix might include a casual look, a dressier outfit and something that shows your personality. Layers, jackets and accessories can create additional looks without completely changing outfits. Choose clothes that fit well. If you feel comfortable and confident, it will show in your photos.

Coordinate, don't overthink. Solid colors, subtle patterns and timeless pieces photograph beautifully. Avoid large logos, neon colors and very distracting patterns.

Don't forget the details. Shoes, jewelry, hats, letter jackets, sports uniforms or meaningful accessories can add personality.

BRING 2–4 outfits or layers

• Multiple shoe options • Favorite accessories • Personal items

HAIR, MAKEUP, & DETAILS

Keep it natural. Professional hair and makeup are completely optional. If you wear makeup, choose a look that still feels like you. A little extra definition photographs well, especially around the eyes.

Give yourself time. Avoid major hair or beauty changes immediately before your session unless you've planned them in advance.

Bring touch-up items. A brush, lip color, powder and anything else you may need can stay nearby for quick touch-ups.

FOR THE GUYS

Keep it simple & feel like yourself. You don't need a complicated wardrobe or a bunch of poses. I'll guide you through everything and keep things natural.

What to wear

  • Bring 2–3 outfits with some variety.

  • A clean, well-fitting T-shirt or polo is great for a casual look.

  • Add a button-down, sweater, jacket or sport coat for a dressier option.

  • Dark jeans, chinos or khakis are easy, timeless choices.

  • Avoid oversized clothing, large logos and athletic shorts unless they're part of your personality.

  • Clean, fresh shoes make a difference—bring more than one pair if you can.

Grooming

  • Get a haircut about a week before your session rather than the day before, so it has time to settle.

  • If you have facial hair, decide ahead of time whether you want a clean-shaven or beard look.

  • Trim your beard/neckline and take care of any obvious stray hairs.

  • Bring a comb/brush and lip balm for quick touch-ups.

Bring what makes you YOU
Sports equipment, a guitar, favorite hat, letter jacket, uniform, hobby, car, skateboard—or anything else that's part of your story—is welcome.

DURING YOUR SESSION
We'll move through a variety of poses, locations and expressions so your gallery feels full and authentic. I'll give you direction the entire time—you won't be left wondering what to do with your hands!

Expect to: walk • move • laugh • pose • explore • change outfits • have fun

Most important: You don't have to be a professional model. I'll show you exactly how to pose in a way that feels natural.

WEATHER For outdoor sessions, I'll keep an eye on the forecast and contact you if we need to adjust the time or reschedule.

AFTER YOUR SESSION
I'll carefully select and edit the best images from your session. Your final gallery will be delivered through an online gallery where you can view, download and share your portraits.
